London Studio Apartment
A Bauhaus-Inspired Studio Apartment with a Flexible Layout
This studio apartment is designed for a young fashion designer based in London. The apartment is Bauhaus-inspired and is reflective of the area where art and culture are important. The apartment has a black and white neutral background with accents of primary colour making the space look vibrant and fun without compromising on its relaxing atmosphere. The materials, accent colours, and lines used carry out rhythm and pattern throughout the space allowing the space to be striking and coherent.
Overall, the space looks streamlined and contemporary. The FF&E (furniture, fixture, and equipment) selected have simple forms and sleek lines characteristic of Bauhaus.
Despite the uniting elements in the design, each functional zone is afforded a distinct character through careful consideration of materials and colours. Contrast is achieved through colour, material, and form, where straight lines are contrasted by dynamic curves and the black and white base is contrasted by the warmth of wood and accent colours.
The layout of the studio apartment is flexible and interchangeable depending on the client's needs. The sofa bed has wheels and is movable whilst the dining table has an adjustable height allowing it to be easily converted into a coffee table. The dining chairs are foldable and can be hung on the walls as artwork when not in use.
