An Exhibition on Sustainable Children's Bedroom

This design showcases biophilic design and recreates nature in space through spatial strategies and the use of natural materials, patterns, and colours. Biophilic design has been shown to increase our connection with nature and boost our health and well-being. Spatial strategies which allow for a sense of danger and refuge reflecting the natural environment are incorporated into the space through the wall climbing area and enclosed bed space. Different materials, colours, patterns, and lighting are layered to achieve the sensorial depth found in nature and to stimulate children's development

The finishes and FF&E (furniture, fixture, and equipment) used in this design are sustainable and ethically sourced. Most are made of natural materials, have recycled content, and can be easily reused/recycled at the end of their life. This design also features furniture which can be adapted as a child grows eliminating the need to buy new furniture. Smart technology is incorporated into the space to help regulate children's sleeping and waking patterns, save energy, and make tasks easier.
